Hydrogen vs. Electric: Which will be the Fuel of the Future?

In other words, team Hydrogen Fuel Cell has more depth than team Electric. A battery-swapping program, where drivers would drop off batteries and pick up new ones, has been suggested as a solution for electric engines. It remains to be seen if this is a viable plan.
The Support
Both technologies face support challenges. Before hydrogen fuel cells become popular, stations will have to be build all over the U.K., and there are not any large-scale plans to do so. Electric charging stations would be much easier to construct, but an influx of demand for electricity could strain power grids. For electric engines to be sustainable, more power plants would need to be built. In the sports metaphor, these are both expansion teams that are desperately seeking outside investment and support.
The Future
In the near future, electric engines will likely outperform hydrogen fuel cells. After all, hybrids are already popular. However, over time, hydrogen fuel cells might have greater long-term success than electric engines. In the near future, a used Fiat Doblo, a used Citroen C3 or and all other vehicles will likely be powered by electric engines. In a few decades, though, they might rely on hydrogen fuel cells.
